Mail Server Type: IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: imap.unitedwireless.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.unitedwireless.com
No Secure Authentication is necessary for outgoing emails.

Configuring Outlook for UW Email

1. Open Outlook , click on Tools, then E-mail Accounts.
2. On the E-mail Accounts wizard window, select "Add a new e-mail account" and click Next.
3. For your server type, select "IMAP" and click Next.
4. Under User Information type your name and full email address.
5. Under Server Information:

  • Enter the following server information if you are a Wireless Internet customer:
  • (If your email address ends with "@unitedwireless.com)
  • Incoming mail server: imap.unitedwireless.com
  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.unitedwireless.com

6. Under Logon Information, type your username (everything before the "@" sign) and password, and select Remember password.
7. Click Next.
8. Click Finish.

Accessing Your UW Email on Windows 7 (Windows Live Mail)

*Note: Until you run Windows Updates on your Windows 7 machine, there is no default email client installed. In order to access your email, you can either purchase Outlook, download a free mail program (such as Mozilla Thunderbird), or run Windows Updates on your computer (which will install Windows Live Mail). You can find instructions on how to configure Outlook Express and Outlook for your email above, or on Windows Live Mail below.

1. After running Windows Updates, open Windows Live Mail. To open this program, click on the Start Menu, then All Programs, the Windows Live folder, and then on Windows Live Mail. Once the program is up and running, click on Add e-mail account on the left-hand side of the window.

Note: To create a shortcut icon for Windows Live Mail on your desktop, right-click on the program and select Send to --> Desktop.

2. Type in your email address and password from Untied in their respective fields, being sure to select remember password. Also type in your full name in Display Name, and select Manually configure server settings for e-mail account.

3. Make sure that POP3 is selected in the drop-down list, and type in the incoming and outgoing server names in their respective fields (see below).

Enter the following server information if you are a Wireless Internet customer (if your email address ends with "@unitedwireless.com"):

  • Incoming mail server: pop3.unitedwireless.com
  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.unitedwireless.com
  • Leave all checkboxes unchecked, as well as Login ID. Click Next.

4. Click Finish.

How to set up your voicemail:

  1. Press and hold 1.
  2. Default passcode is 9999.
  3. Follow instructions to select security code, record name and record greeting. 

How to play messages:

  1. Press 1 to play.
  2. Press 7 to delete.
  3. Press # to keep message new and go on to the next message. 

During a message playback, you may:

  1. Press 1 to rewind 6 seconds.
  2. Press 11 to replay message.
  3. Press 2 to pause message.
  4. Press 3 to forward 6 seconds.
  5. Press 33 to skip to next message. 

How to change your personal greeting:

  1. Press 3 for greeting menu.
  2. Press 2 to record active greeting.
  3. Record greeting followed by #. 

How to change your security code:

  1. Press 4 for personal options.
  2. Press 4 for personal preferences.
  3. Press 1 to modify security code.
  4. Enter security code followed by #. 

How to bypass password option:

  1. Press 4 for personal options.
  2. Press 8 to enable/disable bypass password. 

Cancel Call Waiting

This will disable call waiting temporarily for the current call only and will reactivate itself for other calls.

  • Enter *70 + 10-digit number you are calling + Send. 

Private Call

  • Enter *67 + 10-digit number you are calling + Send. (You will have to do this for every call.) 
 

Call Forwarding

This feature will forward your calls to another cell phone or landline. Your cell phone will not ring.

  1. Enter *72 + 10-digit number you are forwarding to + Send.
  2. 1. To deactivate, enter *720 + Send. 

Call Forward No Answer

This feature will forward your calls to another cell phone or landline, but your cell phone will ring first. If there is no answer, it will forward the call on.

  1. Enter *73 + 10-digit number you are forwarding to + Send.
  2. To deactivate, enter *730 + Send. 

Call Forward Busy Line

This feature will forward your calls to another cell phone or landline when you are on a call.

  1. Enter *74 + 10-digit number you are forwarding to + Send.
  2. To deactivate, enter *740 + Send. 

Cancel Call Waiting

This will disable call waiting temporarily for the current call only and will reactivate itself for other calls.

  • Enter *70 + 10-digit number you are calling + Send. 

Private Call

  • Enter *67 + 10-digit number you are calling + Send. (You will have to do this for every call.) 
 

We get this question a lot! While you’re on a call, just press the volume buttons (on the face or side). Pressing the button at any other time changes the volume for ringtones and alerts. The volume level you set while you’re in a phone call will be the default audio level for other calls until you adjust the volume in-call again.

Go into Settings, then Privacy, then Security. From there, in most browsers, you can clear your history and cache.
